Or on the flip side to this there is a trend toward the revival of the artisan. the idea of craftsmanship. Form vs. function. Design desfines who we are and where we are as a culture. But can these differing philosophies coexist and what environmental, economic and social factors come into play for the designer? If we can make anything, what should we make, how should we make it and what will history say about us in the future? From concept to construction to execution, where do designers find inspiration today?
